If you always wanted to know about Permaculture but were afraid to ask, you cannot go past this property. This is excellence personified, created by two passionate people ready to pass it on. Everything is done to a high standard for you to bring your own personal passions, and enjoy a wonderful lifestyle.
There is so much to tell you. The pictures tell many stories, but many of the values are integral to the design and management of the home and the land, and its uses over the years.
Nature’s Way Eco Sanctuary allows you to live a more sustainable way of life for your better health and wellbeing.
The beautiful home has been created with the natural flow of the land it resides on. Following the gentle contours and colours, curves and lines, the building sits facing True north allowing for passive heating and cooling – keeping at 20 degrees all year round. Such a delight to come in out of the heat into the naturally cooled environment…and staying warm in the colder months.
Regenerative landscaping has allowed the 6 acres to be organically designed using permaculture principles and philosophies. Set in the fertile volcanic soils of the Port Fairy region. Close to beaches and only 5km to the seaside town of Port Fairy itself. Just 20km from the major regional city of Warrnambool.
This magnificent unique Off-Grid strawbale home comprises 3 extra large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. An additional separate toilet always such a bonus. The main bathroom contains a stunning open shower, in front of a floor to ceiling glass bricked wall and freestanding bath.
The well-designed galley kitchen includes a Falcon Gas range, walk in pantry, and all the mod cons including a dishwasher, stone benchtops and soft close drawers. So easy to create in.
With over 700 bales of straw, eco fixtures and fittings, the floor to ceiling double glazed windows offering natural light, well designed for cross ventilation. All taking in the views of the gardens, grounds and beyond. All working together to create a peaceful, quiet and relaxing effect.
The home is flooded with natural light through the clerestory windows for you to enjoy a light and airy ambience. If a house had a heartbeat, this would be the one.
The extensive 81m2 tiled front verandah is perfect for entertaining. The undercover area, with extensive views over the countryside, has been a perfect venue for events and workshops held by the owners. If enterprise is your thing, please request details of our commercial program for this property.
The front lawn is an ideal place for the family to indulge all kinds of activities, including rolling around on the green lush lawn, kick a ball or two.
In close proximity is the wood fired hand crafted pizza oven, created by a local artisan. Your own pizza hut, it’s all undercover with power and lighting. Perfect for sharing the warmth and yummy pizzas with wonderful neighbours and family on cold wintery nights, or balmy summer evenings.
By embracing off grid technologies, the property is powered by an Off-Grid power system. This comfortably supplies all your needs without the encumbrance of a monthly payment to a power company – happiness producing as well as saving money! Even better, there is a heat pump for the generation of hot water for the hydronic in-floor heating system in winter.
The healthy home continues with allergy free plant-based paints and finishes to ensure a toxic free environment, inside and out. No nasties here!
Employing natural and organic principles whilst providing opportunities to live an easier lifestyle with no added bills.
But wait, there is so much more. The systems and infrastructure are excellent. You will be the beneficiaries of the research, design and implementation of this fully integrated property. Please request further details of the systems to fully appreciate all the assets.

The “back paddock” is five acres divided to allow rotational grazing for your livestock, or a pony or two. These separate paddocks have reticulated water and electric fencing.
Rainwater is harvested from a large roof area and stored in 2 x 22,000 litre tanks, supplying a constant source of pure rain fed drinking water.
